Good Things

This is my latest WIP. Shouldn’t I have finished some other WIP’s before starting this? Seriously, I really don’t know how many things I have started that are still patiently waiting for their chance to be finished. They date back years. Oh well, such is life. I will finish this.

While it is just plain stockinette right now, it will end up being this. I had planned to make this in red, but I chose this silvery white color instead. It matches my hair! The yarn is Seduce by Berroco, a rayon, linen, silk and nylon blend. At first I didn’t think I would like knitting with this yarn, but it really is good to work with and is going to drape beautifully.

On the home front, my son should be out of Afghanistan by now and waiting for his flight home. He should be in the States for good on Saturday. He has been in the Army for the past 5 years and he can’t wait to be home! I’m assuming that I will be making lots of chocolate chip cookies.

What a day

Whoever said working in a yarn shop is a cushy job didn’t see me working today. Actually, it is a pretty cushy job most of the time. I have moved so many skeins of yarn today that I almost don’t want to see yarn for awhile. Terrible isn’t it! We did some major rearranging and tearing down today to make ready for a trunk show and boy am I exhausted. I did actually try to knit something – a scarf a friend asked me to knit for her mom for mothers day. It turns out that all my knitting progress today has to be ripped out. Ack! Somewhere along the line I added a stitch. I’d post a picture, but I don’t know where the camera took off to.

Here it is and Here am I

Okay, it’s the middle of the night and I am bored. I have had so many people ask me if I have a blog and so many tell me that I need a blog. So here it is.

I am up because I went to bed around 5:00 p.m. Migraines and pain medicine will do that to ya. Now my day is screwed up. Oh well, no pain anymore so that’s good. What a way to start a blog, talking about a migraine.

Maybe a picture of some knitting would be good. This is my Aran Ipod Carrier. It’s something I designed last week. I’ll add a free download as soon as I figure out how to do it!
