This is what Thursdays look like
I knit with a group on Thursday nights at Kaldi’s Coffeehouse and Tamara totally blew me away when she gave me this.
A skein of Wollmeise. Did I say I was totally blown away? Well, I was. Some may say it is just yarn, but it is not just any yarn, it’s Wollmeise for crying out loud! It is so hard to get. Totally made my day!
I forgot to take with me everything I needed to knit my shawl, so I spun instead. I also taught Tamara to spin. Here she is with what I think may be her newly found addiction.
For a time, three of us were spinning in the coffee shop and, needless to say, we did get a few stares. It was fun. We also got to see the shrug Gail finally finished. She’s been working on it for awhile. It is really pretty and we had fun watching Carly model it. Here is Carly wearing it well even if it is a little big for her.
I know that this was knit with Noro, but I don’t know what pattern she used. I’ll have to find out because I think I need to add it to my queue!
Totally unrelated to Thursday: The size 4’s were the needles of choice for the Kiri swatch poll.

What a fun night last night was! I can’t wait to see what you make with the wollmeise-crack!
Thanks so much for the spindle lesson! I am certain you’ve created another addiction for me! Its bad enough that I have a hard time getting anything done around my house due to my knitting addiction!
Carley looks so cute in that shrug!!
See you next Thursday!
