Dyeing is exhausting!

I needed to get some roving dyed up for the shop so yesterday I dyed 23 ounces of wool and I’m exhausted both mentally and physically! This dyeing stuff is all pretty new to me and is harder work than I thought it would be. I took a dyeing class a couple of years ago at Estes but I haven’t done too much dyeing since – just a little here and there. The mentally challenging part for me is mixing colors, but it is also the fun part. Some colorways I came up with were a little disappointing, but yet still surprising, and then others like this one made me very happy!

I’ll definitely have to do more of this colorway! I’ve got a bag full of dyed fiber to take to the shop tomorrow. I wish I had more because tomorrow is the last session for our current beginning spinner class and I know that they would love to have something fun to take home and spin. All I can say is that I plan to keep dyeing more!
